    Shahrukh Khan is one man who has reached to the top in Bollywood all by his own. He had no godfather nor was he a star son. A young man from a middle class Muslim family in Delhi, SRK started his acting career with the famous Television serial Fauji. He saw instant success and landed in Mumbai to try his luck in films. After an initial struggle he made his debut with the super hit film Deewana. But he gained super success and became an over night star with his negative performance in Baazigar. From then on there was no looking back as SRK went on to become the Badshaah of Bollywood giving hits after hits. Recently SRK completed 20 glorious years in the cine industry.     BAAZIGAR : After making a successful debut with Deewana, SRK became an overnight sensation with his revenge seeking negative role that kills his own girlfriend. He was the first mainstream actor to do such a negative role. After this film he went on to do a string of negative films such as Darr and Anjaam. SRK went on to win many awards for the best actor in a negative role for his performance.

    DILWALE DULHANIYA LE JAYINGE : After giving a string of average flicks form the year 93 to 95 DDLJ brought SRK on the top position. SRK played the ultimate lover boy in this movie which is still running in a theatre in Mumbai even today. This movie was directed by Yash Chopra’s son Aditya Chopra. This also made Shahruk’s pairing with Kajol a super hit with the audience, who later went on work together in many films.

    DIL TO PAGAL HAI : After a dull 1997 which saw a string of average films, SRK came back with his favorite director Yash Chopra for Dil To Pagal Hai. This film saw SRK paired opposite the then reigning queens of Bollywood, Madhuri Dixit and Karisma Kapoor. SRK won the Filmfare Award for the best actor’s role for this film.

    KUCH KUCH HOTA HAI : SRK’s winning success continued with yet another blockbuster ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ in 1998. This movie was directed by debutant Karan Johar who is considered to be SRK’s closets friend till date. This movie saw SRK and Kajol’s hit Jodi once again in the limelight. . SRK played a college going student for the first time in his career. Later on Karan and SRK went on to make some the biggest hits till date.

    KABHI KHUSI KABHI GHAM : After giving some decent hits from 1999 to 2001,SRK was back with Karan Johar’s multi-starrer Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham. For the first time in the history of Bollywood this film saw three superstars of three different generations in Amitabh, SRK and Hrithik share screen space for the film. Though a multi-starrer this film was totally centered around SRK. This film went to become a huge blockbuster winning SRK yet another Filmfare Award.

    DEVDAS : Year 2002 saw Shahrukh khan come out of his lover boy image and try something new. He teamed up with the talented Sanjay Leela Bhansali for the magnum opus Devdas. This movie went on to become a cult classic and also brought high critical acclaim for SRK. He teamed up with Aishwarya Rai in a romantic role for the first time in his career. Devdas was the costliest Bollywood film ever made in those times.

    KAL HO NA HO :After a brief gap SRK was back with Kal Ho Na Ho set in New York. SRK won lot of critical acclaim for his role as the ailing cancer patient who is in love with Priety Zinta. This film made SRK a huge hit among NRI audiences and his craze and fan following grew by leaps and bounds abroad. This performance also won him the Filmfare award for the best actor.

    SWADES :Year 2004 was a blockbuster year as SRK had three releases in Veer Zaara, Main Hoon Na and Swades. But the film which turned many heads was Ashutosh Gowarikers Swades. SRK played an NASA scientist who returns to an Indian village to take his nanny to America and in the process rediscovers his roots. Though this film did have much luck at the box office, SRK was highly appreciated for his na�ve performance. SRK was even expecting a National Award for this movie as he felt that it was his best performance till date.

    DON : SRK was much in news for two of his films in 2006. He started the year with the much controversial film Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna. SRK appeared in the role of a man who has an extra-martial affair. But the year end saw SRK as Don where he played the iconic character which was originally played by Amitabh Bachchan. This movie went on to become a blockbuster taking SRK’s star status to a peak stage. After this film SRK was called as the Badshaah of Bollywood.

    CHAK DE INDIA :For the first time in his career SRK featured in a hardcore character oriented role in Chak De as a ladies Hockey team coach. Neither he had a heroine in this film nor did he have any songs. This movie went on to become a huge hit and also bring critical acclaim to SRK. He later went on to win all the best actor Awards for that year. This film was the first ever film which was made on Hockey.

    OM SHANTI OM : SRK was seen in a double role for the first time in his career in ‘Om Shanti Om’ which was directed by choreographer turned director Farah Khan. This was a re-incarnation film which saw SRK play a struggling junior artist and was highly appreciated for his comic timing. This film also broke new industry records and went on to become one of the biggest ever grosser of Bollywood of those times.

    MY NAME IS KHAN : Finally in 2011,SRK was back with My name is Khan where he played a Indian Muslim man with Asperger’s syndrome who takes a challenge to speak to the President seriously, and embarks on a cross-country journey. Though the film had huge openings it did not click with the audience. SRK teamed up with his best friends Karan Johar and Kajol after a long time.
